Assessment Services Ltd.  in partnership with The One Planet Centre CIC, are launching The One Planet Standard

The One Planet Standard recognises organisations who seek to respect Planet Earth’s natural boundaries and capacities by adjusting the impacts of their activities to a level commensurate with what the planet can provide.

Sophie Howe, Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, and Jane Davidson, the former Assembly Member who served as minister for environment, sustainability and housing, have endorsed the Standard.

Sophie commented: “The Standard aligns and builds on my existing advice in the area of decarbonisation and enhancing nature resilience, and it can help not only the public sector but all organisations in Wales with practical actions towards meeting carbon emission and biodiversity targets.

Jane calls it “…an impressive tool to help people be confident in their emission reduction”.

The Standard is free to use and highlights how you can engage your employees, supply chain partners, and customers along your ecological journey.

Understanding the Standard’s requirements will help:

  • Senior leaders shape the organisation’s ecological strategic direction,
  • Leaders and managers implement change,
  • Staff to shift to the desired environmental corporate culture,
  • Customers, suppliers and supply chain partners manage product and service life cycles, and
  • Contribute to partnership working.

Organisations wishing to show public recognition and commitment can choose to be independently assessed by Assessment Services Ltd. There are four cumulative levels of certification:

  • Bronze (Commitment)
  • Silver (Progressing)
  • Gold (Embedded)
  • Platinum (Exemplary)
