Who is it aimed at?
Staff in the independent and 3rd sector.

What are the objectives?
This course aims to increase confidence when engaging with individuals who self-harm. It specifically aims to address the following:

  • Develop an understanding about self -harm and reflect upon the challenges the behaviour presents to staff
  • Helpful responses, including evidence-based guidance
  • The difference between self-harming behaviours and suicidal thinking as well as the links with potential risks for some individuals


How will it make a difference?
It will give participants the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to support them to respond appropriately to individuals who self-harm.
