From September, FareShare Cymru will be providing support to food projects in Carmarthen. As part of this work we will need Carmarthenshire based volunteers.
FareShare Cymru are looking for Carmarthenshire based volunteers.
FareShare Cymru redistributes quality surplus food, that would otherwise have gone to waste, to community groups and charities running food projects. These projects use food to support vulnerable people in their communities and include: homeless hostels, domestic violence refuges, older people’s lunch clubs, community pantries and many others.

FareShare Cymru are working to support community groups and charities in west Wales. The next part of this is working with groups based in Carmarthen from September. One example of a food project they will be supporting in September, is a community café, who are working to tackle the wider causes of poverty, rather than just the symptoms of hunger,. By creating a space for people to meet and eat good food whilst getting support from advice services.
To support their work in west Wales, FareShare Cymru are looking for volunteers. The roles would involve driving to set locations across west Wales, supporting groups collecting food, and understanding the importance of food safety.
Amidst the ever increasing cost of living, FareShare Cymru hopes to provide food support to community groups and charities in Carmarthen who are working to support those in their community, who are facing food poverty.
