Location:      Regional, covering the Dyfed area.

Type:             Full time

Hours:          37 hours per week.        

Salary:          Starting at £22,805 per annum

Start:             TBC

Duration:      Permanent, in line with funding. Current funding granted until March 2023.


Barod’s Dyfed Substance Misuse Service is seeking to recruit a Young Persons Regional Prevention and Transitional Lead.

The post holder will be expected to network, communicate and build relationships with families and communities.

The post holder will work as part of the Choices Team in Dyfed to support schools with substance misuse lesson planning and delivery, teacher training, liaise with Governors, in order to adopt a whole school approach.

The post holder will also help to develop a programme of workshops for schools, youth centres and families via a digital format, therefore allowing the service to adopt an agile regional approach.

The post holder will provide face to face therapeutic intervention and support to young people and young adults seeking help to tackle their drug and alcohol misuse, using the range of models and methods that have been agreed for use within the Dyfed Young Persons Service.

The post holder will also conduct triage, risk and comprehensive assessments in order to assess individual needs, identify goals, prepare a support package and to review the programme and outcomes on a regular basis.

The post holder will carry a small caseload of transitional young adults and will work with them to build resilience and recovery capital until the time is right for them to successfully transit into adult services.
