Volunteer Role: Path Surveyor

Project: Pathways Partnership – Surveying Carmarthenshire’s Public Rights of Way

Where you will be based: Your nearest Public Rights of Way in Carmarthenshire

Project Overview

The county has over 2000km of public rights of way (PROW), but details of the paths, bridges, stiles, gates and signage on the more rural path network is only partially known. In an effort to gain up to date information, we’re working in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council to train and support volunteers to record and report these issues onto the digital definitive map system (CAMS). Alongside surveying, volunteers will also be equipped with a basic toolkit to allow for minor maintenance on the PROW.

Do you believe that people should have the right to access the countryside and want to help collect valuable data to help issues get resolved? If so, then you can help make this happen.
