Amount and Purpose of Grant

£986.89

To create a Covid-19 Support Pack containing 17 information sheets on different aspects of supporting autistic children and young people during the time of Covid-19 and beyond. Topics include Supporting a child at home, Getting used to the new normal and Some things to consider about face coverings, as well as an information sheet on each of the eight senses. To research and write the individual topic PDFs, illustrate the PDFs, create and moderate a dedicated Facebook page to host the Support Pack, promote the Pack on social media and add 36 new topic PDFs as the pandemic unfolded.

There are currently 53 topic PDFs available to download for free. The Facebook group that hosts the Covid-19 Support Pack currently has 236 members.

236 beneficiaries: Autistic children, young people and adults benefitted, parents of autistic children and young people benefitted and professionals benefitted.

They benefitted by having free access to a range of resources relevant to being autistic and supporting autistic people during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. These resources were written by an autistic person and spoke directly from and to autistic experience.
