We could help someone wrap their Christmas presents
My name is Kaz Jefferies and I am a trustee from Llanelli Deaf Centre.
Why am I here?
I want to ask you for help for the Deaf Centre.
We’re based in New Road, we serve all of Carmarthenshire, we support deaf and profoundly deaf and hearing aided and hearing loss.
We have youth groups
We have well being days
Social events, social evenings sigh language and family sign classes. We teach sign language as well.
We’re completely run by volunteers. We don’t have anybody that’s paid to work here.
We have a problem
A really big problem!
Weve had a really wet, lots of rain here and we’ve realised that our building has damp coming through. A lot of the walls have failed inside. The plaster has blown.
The damp has damaged things that belong to the youth groups. A lot of the things were stored in cupboards on shelves but there was no boxes, so they’re damp and damaged and we have had to throw those.
We are going to repair the building and at the moment we are fundraising.
So why am I here?

Can you help do some work?
Could you help maybe have ideas how to fundraise?
Maybe you’re a business who could quote for the work?
We want to apply for funding and I’m ready to apply for funding but I do need quotes first.
Can you physically help us?
Can you have an idea of what to do to fundraise?
Can you come and help us sort out the damaged things and rebox?
In the future Could you help us put things back or paint, reorganise things, anything like that.
