Carmarthen Stroke Group is a small and friendly voluntary group which is led by volunteers. We provide a weekly group for stroke survivors and carers on Monday afternoon, from 2 til 4pm at Bethel Church Carmarthen. Our programme includes a range of activities, monthly trips, fun and friendship. The group is an opportunity for stroke survivors to get out and meet others, and to support each other whilst adapting to the realities of life after a stroke.
We are looking for volunteers to help run our weekly Stroke Group. Are you friendly and welcoming? Do you have spare time to commit on a regular basis. Volunteers will help to set up and clear up before/after group sessions. Join in with activities. Spend time getting to know our members, some of whom have communication difficulties.
Assist with making teas and coffees. Our members speak English and Welsh. The role will not involve one to one support or assistance with any personal care needs. It is very much in a group setting.
