Volunteer Befriender in Pontyberem

An Independent Visitor is an adult who volunteers to regularly spend free time with a young person in care. Meeting them a few hours, once a month, Independent Visitors are there to listen to and to help young people to talk and think about everyday things. During this time, they’ll support them in their interests, mentor them to make their own decisions and be a positive influence.

Welsh translator

The Fishermen’s Mission works with Fishermen, Ex fishermen and their Families. We provide financial, practical and pastoral support to those who have a direct link with the commercial fishing industry, whenever they need it.

We are wanting to ensure that going forward, our communications about the work of the organisation in Wales is available in Welsh and so are looking for some one who can provide correct translations of comunications such as event posters, Facebook posts and letters to supporters etc.

It is not envisaged that there will be a huge amount of translation needed, normally a few FB posts each week, but it would be useful if you are able to provide a quick turn around when it is required.

Y Lolfa GCG

Y Lolfa is a community-managed Library run by volunteers. It provides a central hub for lending both Neath Port Talbot Libraries books and Y Lolfa’s Own Collections. We also have several weekly and monthly groups

Without our volunteers we would not be able to open the library for the community. We need people to help in the library itself, with events and activities, with 1:1 reading and with keeping the library running. If you’d be interesting in becoming involved, click the link above
