Who is it aimed at?

Staff in the independent and 3rd sector.

What are the objectives?

Delegates will be able to –

  • Understand the myths and facts around suicide
  • Identify risk factors for suicide, identify signs and symptoms when a person is having thoughts of suicide.
  • Take appropriate action in a crisis situation to keep a person safe from immediate risk of harm and suicide
  • Know where to signpost/refer to for longer term support for those at risk of suicide


How will it make a difference?

Delegates will have increased confidence to support anyone who is having thoughts of/making plans for suicide, both service users and the general population, as well as within the workplace.
