Participatory budgeting follows the premise that the purpose, solution and allocation of community funds should be decided upon by the community themselves. Through identifying shared needs, seeking to meet those needs, and then providing the funding to marry the two – encourages community investment, is more efficient and cost effective and can foster good community relations.

The offer made was for up to £250 with a limit of £1,000 available for each community action hub.

The distributed funds would focus on the ambitions of the West Wales Care Partnership and include an element of the following:

  1. Create a community activity.
  2. Improve health and well-being.
  3. Alleviate social isolation.
  4. Develop new and improved activities in Llanedi Ward
  5. Increase skills and knowledge within Llanedi Ward
  6. Encourage Intergenerational activity.
  7. Forge new local friendships and relationships.
  8. Encourage befriending.
